Margaret Hayes presently serves as President and CEO of Fashion Group International directing and implementing strategic goals for 6,000 members in 38 chapters internationally. Margaret Hayes has been a senior-level merchandising executive with more than 28 years of experience. Previous to this responsibility she served as a Senior Vice President of Merchandising at Saks Fifth Avenue, a leading large volume fashion specialty store, for 17 years. In that capacity she directed and implemented sales and profit growth for seven divisions, contributing the largest profit base for the company.
She is the recipient of numerous Humanitarian and Business Leadership awards including those from The Fragrance Foundation, The American Cancer Society, City of Hope, The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore as well as the prestigious “La Medaillè de la Ville de Paris” awarded in 2000.
She currently serves on several Fortune 500 corporate boards and four not-for-profit educational and medical boards.

Fern Mallis is the Executive Director of 7th on Sixth and Vice President of IMG and has been at the helm of 7th on Sixth since it’s creation in 1993. 7th on Sixth was originally formed by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) to organize, centralize and modernize the American Collections and provide a platform for American designers to become players in the global fashion marketplace. Acquired by IMG in July of 2001, 7th on Sixth currently produces Olympus Fashion Week in New York, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios in Los Angeles, and will launch this summer Sunglass Hut Miami Swim Shows presented by Lycra.
In addition to overseeing 7th on Sixth’s U.S. events, Ms. Mallis is involved in IMG Fashion’s growing portfolio of events around the world. She travels frequently to international fashion capitals providing her expertise in creating and organizing fashion events as well as in establishing an international marketing and communications platform for fashion weeks around the world.
Prior to joining IMG, Ms. Mallis was Executive Director of CFDA from 1991-2001. Ms. Mallis also served as a consultant for the fashion and interior design industries and was Vice President of marketing and communications for the International Design Center, New York (IDCNY). Ms. Mallis’ career in the fashion industry began at Mademoiselle magazine, winning the magazines very coveted “Guest Editor” competition and then she became a Merchandising Editor. She also has worked on both the retail and wholesale sides of the fashion industry.
